Hotel uitstekend (ondanks D-Reizen).
β We loved, loved, loved going to Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort & Spa. As former expats to Thailand, it was like returning home. The staff was gracious and always friendly, knowledgable about helping out. The hotel amenities were simply perfect: great food, massage services and pools, timely and fast housekeeping and best of all: no live entertainment to annoy guests at night. Simple, elegant and comfortable. The only drawback of the hotel itself was the beach access. From April to October a lot of garbage washes up on shore, making the waters kind of gross to swim in. Also, in that period, the seas are rough and the waves crash onto the rocky coast line, but there are moments of calm so you can still walk the beach. Most of the disappointment was with the utter lack of service from D-Reizen itself. They abscond themselves beforehand of any personal assistance at airport or hotel, leaving you to e-mail or call them, both contact methods leaving much to be desired. We were on the phone for 40 minutes before we gave up and e-mailing them led to promises never kept. Also, their airport to resort service? Way overpriced. Use Thailand's answer to Uber (Grab) instead. Much cheaper and more flexible. So, in short: go to Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort & Spa, or anywhere in Thailand but only go with D-Reizen if you don't expect to rely on them to help you in a pinch. β
