“ From the moment we stepped into Fairmont on The Palm, all 3 of us, said wow……what an impressive lobby! And although it was already way past midnight we felt welcomed by a lovely receptionist. They offered us in-room dining as all dining venues were already closed at that time. This was a very nice touch. Our room was nice and spacious, with a balcony and a perfect bathroom. Clean and all housekeepers made sure it was daily cleaned. Small note, it is not the most modernly decorated room, but that is just our opinion. The daily breakfast buffet was very good, with live cooking stations with fresh food and a lot of variety to choose from. Sometimes we used lunch or dinner buffet, and they were very good as well, even though we are not buffet people, we liked it. We also had the pleasure of having some dinners at one of their specialty restaurants and in general they were very nice, Although The Fairmont is a 5-star luxury resort, do not expect Michelin level cuisine / service at these restaurants. We visit some restaurants outside the hotel, and two of them were fantastic, Demon Duck at the Banyan Tree at Blue Waters and Rūya at the St Regis on The Palm. As previous guests mentioned before, the hotel feels somewhat dated, and you see the -wear and tear-especially back at the mosaic tiling of pools, and pool loungers. The loungers and very thin pads are really in need of replacement. This part didn’t give me a 5-star luxury feel. BTW, happy to see that there were not that many chair hoggers which we appreciated. In general this resort exceeded our expectations. The service of all associates is top notch. With 3 people we want to mention; Shan the pool waiter, Rajab the bellboy, and Hanna at FLOW restaurant, they really went the extra mile. Shan gave us a little farewell dessert, which I think that these little touches can make your vacay complete. “
